New York: Beseiges by fans in the Plaza Hotel here, The Beatles find that the telephone is the safest link with the outside world. The four Merseyside Lads, (left-right) Ringo Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, are pictured in their hotel room on Saturday. Later McCartney, Lennon and Starr managed to duck the fans and spend some time sightseeing in nearby Central Park. George was confined to bed with a cold and sore throat, but managed to make a sufficient enough recovery to appear on the Ed Sullivan T.V. Show
